More on Reptiles....

Did you know the Chameleon is the only animal that can look both  backwards and forwards at the same time! The eyes can move independently of each other! We tried to look behind and forward at the same time, but it didn't work. Their tongues also move really really fast! Not to mention it's really really long! Their tongue is one and a half times their body length!

Did you know that snakes smell with their....Tongue! Some snakes (pit vipers) also have a way to tell changes in the temperature and that's how they find their food! They also keep growing until they die. Most animals get to a certain point and stop growing, but not snakes! They shed their skin sometimes as much as once a month when they are little. They also slither! Which is pretty cool to watch. We tried to be snakes by using the pillow cases as our "body" and then slithered down the hallway in them. Mommy wasn't to happy with us at first because we used the NEW pillow cases. So please if you want to try it, ask your mommy for an old pillow case! Some snakes get really REALLY big...

This is our favorite snake video! We really like to watch it...
