Memorial and Museum....

Field trip Friday!! Originally we were going to check out some cool tree's at the Arboretum, but couldn't find parking at all. I'm not sure what was going on there, but I don't think I've ever seen it that busy! Anyway we headed down towards the zoo to see about parking there and ended up visiting the Oregon Vietnam Veterans Living Memorial.

It's actually a very nice laid out area, with some interesting notes about what was going on in Oregon during the war.  We talked a little about what was happening, and read some of the names. Than it was through the path back to the car when we discovered a couple of these little guys..
They ignored us for the most part. So we watched them eat a little before finishing our walk. Afterwards it was on to the Children's Museum and some dino's!
Arianna found her best buddy right off! She was so excited to see the T. Rex. and well, If a girl needs a good protector I guess that's not a bad one to pick. Doesn't he look intimidating! Then it was on to the close second of the most favorite dinosaurs ever...Triceratops!

While Arianna "Queen of the Dinosaurs" did her little thing Kaitlyn was doing her little thing...
Digging up fossils! She found 6 before she moved on to the next thing...a new buddy for her...
They had fun exploring the dinosaurs before visiting some other sections of the museum..

They played with clay! They painted faces...

They became little animals who played and lived in tree's...

then it was time to make some music, sing some songs, try on some costumes and have a ball.  They were so happy to have a couple of new friends go with them and they all seemed to wear themselves out...or so we thought. I think they "recharged" shortly after getting in the car because it sure was a fun, noisy trip home! Us mom's had some nice conversations and found a lot of similar things we liked while the girls laughed and played. All in all a VERY nice Field trip friday!!
