Riverfront Park - Salem Oregon

Made the drive to Salem to visit Riverfront park and meet up with some homeschoolers from the area. We stopped off and got stuff for a picnic (and as usual got way more stuff than we needed, but we'll eat it at home so no biggie) and headed out. The drive was nice and scenic taking the back roads, and didn't take as long to get there as I thought it was.

We meet up with a few other families and had a ball. The girls had a great time playing with all the kids. Josh and his best friend went as well and walked around Downtown Salem while the kids played. Once everyone got back together we took the kids over to the historic carousel and let the kids have a ride. The girls were so excited! They scoped out the horse they wanted to ride. Kaitlyn of course picked the one I just KNEW she'd pick since it matched her outfit. Arianna found her favorite as well. Josh went on with Dominic so I could get a picture. After they'd finished the first ride. They got surprised with a second one! This time I went on with Dominic. He seemed to enjoy it. The girls have decided that they want to ride the carousel a LOT..as in they want to ride every horse on it! 2 Down, 40 to go! Okay, that might be a slight exaggeration..maybe. And Nope it wasn't! They have 42!  Kaitlyn rode Kate and Tropical breeze today, Dominic rode Thunder and Woodlands Crusader. Arianna rode Tropical Breeze and Happy Holidays.

Saturday we did some shopping. We also had a sad day..Kaitlyn's Bunny Prince Cookie got hurt and died. So she was pretty upset, but is handling it well. The girls decided that they will share Nibs.

Sunday we did some starts for what will be my "living wall" in the kitchen..I got some from a Friend, the rest I started. We have mint, orange mint, apple mint, pineapple sage, silver posie tyme, oregano, chives, lettuce, marjoram, parsley, basil (2 kinds), dill and sage to name a few!

Later today it'll be time to do some weeding out in the big garden..and decide where I want to start and outdoor herb garden as well as the inside one. Lots to do!!
