And the Jungle comes to life!

The science club had their second half of the rainforest unit today and made the rainforest come alive!

The kids had a great time putting everything together! We had birds...

and snakes...

Gorilla's and BIG cats...

Crocodiles....
I think they did an awesome job! I got permission to post pics with the kids all together. The first one was "serious"(well, somewhat)
and then their real personalities started coming out....

What a bunch of hams! The younger set that comes along for the day didn't want to have their pictures taken, They were having to much fun playing with the toys! We talked about what role  bromeliads had in the dart frog life cycle, talked about the role of leaf shapes in collecting rainwater for different varieties of plants, the role of the rainforest in our ecosystems and the varieties of life there. The girls are hoping we can keep the rainforest up for "a long time" in our front window. Next week we have a visit to a reptile place which should be lots of fun!
