Our last "school year" fieldtrip...

I can't believe it's already the middle of June! So much has happened over the last year and well, of course we do some schooling year round, but this was the last big fieldtrip of the school year.

We headed over to the Portland Zoo and met up with a lot of other homeschoolers for some fun and a zoo class "Predator/Prey African style". The kids have a fun class learning about different animals in Africa. We had 4 animals they brought to the classroom for us. A scorpion.

 An African Hedgehog

a ball python
and an eagle owl
The kids had a ball! After the class was over we had some more time to explore the zoo..

We had a great time! We were all pretty exhausted by the time we got home, so it was dinner and bed!
We've had a great year for the most part. We are glad to be done with the "hurry" part and are looking forward to a more relaxing summer..But we also have some fun adventures planned already! Hikes to the falls, crabbing at the coast, fishing at the lake, getting together with some friends for more wildlife experiences and wetlands to discover! Um, I think I should rephrase the "relaxing" part! We've met some great kids (and fantastic mom's) this year, can't wait to hang out over the summer with our new friends!
