Harry Potter and playing catch up...

So we are now about halfway thru the first Harry Potter book with the kids. We sit in a reading circle each night and read for a while, even Dominic will pull out a bench for him to sit on as well. Friday Kaitlyn pulled out a couple of books and read to me, then On Saturday Kaitlyn my "I can't read girl" sat down and read me 19 books all on her own. Then told me she liked reading now and that she's good at it. So maybe we are finally getting to the point she's wanting to read for herself.

 We had a great time at the zoo and did another zoo class. We had a great day hanging out with some new and old friends. We saw a couple of fun favorites and the girls checked out the blue tongue skink during a zoo talk as well.

 Dominic had a lot of fun as well. checking out the animals and watching the class..

We spent several hours there, than ran a friend and her son home before going to pick up the hubby and run over to the eye glass shop to check out some new frames for him. Which of course made for a long day by the time we got home! Friday we spent in Portland again with our friend and her son hanging out while we got chores done. I scored with a stop at Joann's Fabrics, Found Kaitlyn a Christmas present normally $40, on sale and with my educator discount cart paid just over $12.00! Found a couple of other presents as well, and talked to them about sewing classes for kids. Got one of their fliers at home and scored again! Found a christmas present for Arianna normally $70.00 on sale and with the discount card paid about $16.00. Pretty nice savings all the way around!
Sunday we met up with some friends for a birthday party (hubby stayed home with Dominic so the girls and I had a girls day). They had a blast! She got some great gifts and then had some yummy voo doo donuts!

They did Laser tag (5 games), took several rides on the frog hopper (lost count!)...

Did battle on the bumper boats...

and played a game of mini golf...

It's been a very busy week and of course now I'm trying to catch up on lots of stuff. They have some music lessons this week, but we moved science club to next week so all our friends could have the week with their families with out adding to their hectic pre-holiday planning. Kaitlyn also gets her first knitting lesson this week with a friend who is coming over with her son. So we'll have tons of fun! The girls have decided on a mexican food Thanksgiving: enchiladas, tamales, nachos, and more! and of course the must have Pumpkin pie!
Since I have a couple of days off I'm going to try and finish up getting the girls moved into big brothers old room and then get their room started. Need to clean it, put on the grey base and then get the color on. I'm hoping we'll have them into their new room before Christmas for the most part and then can get the other room painted and Dominic into his own room by New Years! We do have to find him a bed so I need to look around for idea's on that as well.
